ABOUT US

Meath Fire Blazers are made up of 8 Meath County Firefighters and Meath County Council Staff Members.  Our last 3 events seen us take on RAI - Race Around Ireland 2015, 2016 & 2018 raising large amount of funds for various local charities. Our 2018 Race Around Ireland seen us win the 8 Person Categories coming home in 77hours & 1Minute!.

June 2021 will see the Meath Fire Blazers take on RAAM 2021 (Race Across America).  For 36 years RAAM has been challenging ultracyclists from around the globe to push their physical and mental limits to the farthest reaches. Starting in Oceanside, under one of the longest piers in California, RAAM spans 3000 miles, climbs 175,000 feet, crosses 12 states and finishes at City Dock in Annapolis, Maryland, the east coast sailing mecca.

The route travels west to east, traversing three major mountain ranges (Sierra, Rocky and Appalachian), crosses four of America’s longest rivers (Colorado, Mississippi, Missouri and Ohio) and the Great Plains.  Also, passing through such iconic American landmarks as the Mojave and Sonoran Deserts, Monument Valley, Great Plains and Gettysburg.

Our chosen charity to help raise much needed funds for is Aoibheann's Pink Tie who mission is to develop, co-ordinate and expand the supports available to families of children battling cancer in Ireland.
